This past Christmas season, the internet was filled with beautifully rendered AI-generated images inspired by the style of Norman Rockwell. I know you saw them - the backs of children sitting close together in front of a perfectly glowing Christmas tree. They were creative, impressive, and undeniably eye-catching. Many families—even some of you—joined in, turning their lives into painterly moments with just a few prompts.
And while I can appreciate the artistry and the technology (I use AI in my business daily), those images also stirred something deeper in me.
Because as beautiful as they are, they aren’t real.
They don’t hold the weight of lived-in moments. They don’t carry memory. And they don’t tell your story.
As a family and newborn photographer, the heart of my brand messaging this year is simple: presence over perfection. In a world being rapidly shaped by artificial intelligence, I believe more than ever in protecting the things that are meant to be experienced in real life.
There are moments AI can’t replicate.
The foggy handprints your kids leave on the windows on cold mornings. The way your toddler absentmindedly runs their fingers through your hair when they’re tired. The look your child gives you across the room when they need reassurance—no words required. The piles of toys in the corner, the unmade beds, the slow mornings that begin in pajamas and stretch into noon.
These are the moments that stay with you.
When your kids are grown and your house is quieter, these are the memories your mind will return to—not the polished, perfect version of life, but the honest one.
Your life is already beautiful. It doesn’t need AI enhancement.
That belief is the foundation of Elle May Photography. My work isn’t about creating something that looks like a magazine spread or a vintage painting. It’s about stepping into your home, learning what makes your family special in this season, and observing the rhythms you already have—how you spend slow mornings, how you connect, how love shows up in the everyday.
During your in-home family photography session, I’m not directing perfection. I’m watching, listening, and artfully documenting what’s already there. The result is a gallery of images that feel true, personal, and deeply familiar—because they are built from real moments that actually happened in your own home.
I’m not afraid of AI overtaking photography.
Because what AI can’t do is create a photography experience.
I was reminded of this firsthand when my own family had photos taken in November. There were no phones, no rushing to the next thing, no distractions. Just the four of us—playing, snuggling, laughing, being together. When it was time for our photographer to leave, my boys didn’t want her to go. They could feel the presence. And so could I.
Those moments mattered just as much as the photos themselves.
If you’re craving family photos that feel meaningful—images you can feel because they’re rooted in real memory—I would be honored to create that experience for you. Not perfection. Not performance.
Just presence.
And the beauty that already exists in your everyday life.
Craving Presence
in an ai-driven world? If you’re longing for photographs that feel honest, meaningful, and deeply personal—images rooted in real memories, not perfection—I’d be honored to help you preserve this season.
When you’re ready, I’d love to step into your home and help you see the beauty you’re already living.
