What are these sessions like?
As your Winston-Salem personality portrait photographer, I know that kids (especially young ones) have a short attention span. That’s what makes these 5 minute sessions absolutely perfect. Modern Kid Portraits are quick, easy, and specially designed to let your child's true personality shine. Whether they are wild and energetic or shy and reserved, I promise there is plenty of time to capture what makes them them.
Can I get a photo of all of my kids together?
These personality portraits are uniquely designed to highlight each child individually. Each time slot is reserved for one child at a time. If capturing all of your kids together is a priority, let's chat about a full family session for more flexibility.
Can we do outfit changes?
Due to the quick nature of these sessions, there is not time for outfit changes. I encourage you to embrace your child’s everyday style—if they love picking out their own outfits, let them! If they live in a dress-up costume, bring it! Modern Kid Portraits are all about capturing your child as they truly are in this moment.
Can my child bring a prop or favorite item?
Yes! In fact, I encourage it! A favorite stuffed animal, a musical instrument, a well-loved toy, sports equipment—anything that makes your child light up is welcome. These little details make the portraits even more special and personal.
When should we arrive?
Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to ensure you are ready when it’s your turn. Sessions are booked back to back, and since these are short sessions (only 5 minutes), any delay cuts into the time your child has in front of the camera. Be sure to set alarms, plan your route, check parking, and account for any possible traffic!
What if we are running late?
Because sessions are booked back to back, I can’t extend session times for late arrivals. If you arrive late, that means your session time is compromised. Arriving on time ensures we get the best photos possible!
What happens if we can’t make it?
If you let me know in advance, I’ll do my best to fit you into another available time slot if there is one. If that’s not possible, you can apply your retainer to a full session, pending my availability. Unfortunately, if neither option works, your retainer will be forfeited.
When will we receive our photos?
My standard turnaround time is two weeks, but I usually deliver sooner! (Spoiler alert: I’m just as excited to see your final images as you are!)
Where do you recommend we buy prints?
My online store is directly linked to your gallery and offers the highest-quality prints, albums, frames, canvases, and more. While there are many print labs available, I can’t guarantee the color accuracy or lasting quality of non-professional options. The best way to ensure your photos look their absolute best is by ordering through your gallery!
